Revelation 10
The Angel with the Little Scroll
1 Then another mighty angel appeared out of heaven. He wore a cloud and a rainbow for a crown. His face was as bright as the sun and his legs were pillars of molten fire.
2 He had a little scroll open in his hand. He placed one mighty leg on the sea and the other on the land. 3 He called out in a thunderous voice that sounded like a million lions. His call was answered by the seven thunders. 4 I was about to write down what they said, but a voice told me, "Keep that part to yourself. Do not write it down."5 The mighty angel standing on the land and the sea raised his right hand to the sky and
6 made a promise in the name of God who is eternal, who is the creator of heaven and earth and everything in between. The angel said, "Now is the time! 7 When the seventh bugle has been sounded, God's secret plan will be revealed. This secret is known to his cowboys and the old hands who rode for him."8 The voice from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go take the little scroll from the angel standing on the land and sea."
9 I did as instructed and the angel said, "Eat it. It will be like honey in your mouth, but your stomach will sour."
10 I took the scroll and ate it. Sure enough, it tasted sweeter than the sweetest honey. But my stomach instantly turned over when I swallowed.
11 Then the voice said, "Once again you must ride out and tell of God's work to all men and all nations, sparing no king or peasant."Simplified Cowboy Version
