Contextual Overview
24After Jesus finished everything he was going to do there, he rode off toward the country around Tyre. He tried to keep his presence there a secret, but that was to no avail.
25A particular woman who had a daughter who was possessed, heard Jesus had come to town and she went and fell at his feet.
26This lady wasn't a Jew, but a Greek. She asked Jesus to grab the demon and jerk it out of her daughter.
27Jesus said to her, "A father will feed his own children first. He won't take away their meal and give it to the dogs."
28She answered, "Yes, my Lord, but even the dogs eat the scraps and crumbs that fall from the father's table."
29Jesus smiled at that and said, "That's the kind of faith I'm looking for. You go check on your daughter and see that she has been freed from that scoundrel that's been controlling her."
30When the lady got home, it was just as he'd said. The demon was gone.

For a certain woman,.... One way and means by which he came to be more openly discovered who he was, was this; a woman in those parts,
whose young daughter had an unclean spirit; a devil, with which she was possessed; hearing of some miracles he had wrought in healing the sick, and casting out devils;
heard of him, and came; and understanding that he was in such a place made all haste to him;
and fell at his feet; and with great respect and reverence to so venerable a person, threw herself at his feet, and earnestly entreated mercy for her child; believing he had power to cast the devil out of her, though at a distance from her.
