Cross-References
There was an old cowboy living in Jerusalem named, Simeon. He was a good fellow, filled with the Holy Spirit, who was all-in for God's outfit. He'd been waiting for the day that God would send his Top Hand.
Now there was a good cowboy named Joseph. He'd been a part of the same group that had Jesus killed,
One of them said, "Our boss, Cornelius, a Roman officer, sent us to fetch ya. He's well respected and rides for God. An angel told him to send for ya and we're here to take you back so you can give him your message."
The good news shows us how God makes us all right with him. It's nothing but faith from nose to tail. It's nothing more than faith, but nothing less either. The Good Book says, "It's faith that makes us right with God, nothing else."
This means no one is right with God by following rules. The Good Books also says, "It is by faith that a cowboy rides the right trail with God."
It was by a heapin' of faith that Noah built him a big boat for his family to ride out the storm that wiped everyone else out. It was as simple as listening to God and doing what he said—even though no one had even heard of such a thing happening before. Noah's faith was the dividing line between who was saved and who was lost.
And you are also living rocks God will use to construct a spiritual sanctuary. Not only that, but each of you cowboys are his holy men spreading his message. Your sacrifice will not be in blood, but in the life you give to God through Jesus Christ.
God got so fed up with our ancient ancestors that he destroyed the whole world with a flood. Only Noah and seven others were saved. Noah was a cowboy who urged righteous living and practiced what he preached.
Gill's Notes on the Bible
Then said Jesus unto them,.... The Scribes and Pharisees, who were watching him, and whose thoughts, and the reasonings of their minds, purposes, and intentions, he full well knew:
I will ask you one thing; or question, as they had asked him one before; Matthew 12:10
is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
Matthew 12:10- : to which may be added, that to save life on the sabbath day was agreeable to their own canons: there were many things which they allowed might be done on the sabbath day, when life was in danger, which otherwise were not lawful; Matthew 12:10- :.
