Help a Fellow Up

¹ Cowboys, if you catch someone doing something they shouldn't, you should love 'em enough to set 'em back on the right path; but do it gently. And another thing, watch what you're doing, too. Don't be a hypocrite and point out people's faults while you're neck deep in the same mud. ² We should get off and help people up who've been bucked off hard. I mean, this is essentially everything Jesus told us to do. ³ But if you think you're too good to get off and lend a hand to a broken fellow, you show just how small a man you really are. You can talk a big game all you want, but the only one who believes your lies is you. ⁴ You should take a good, long, hard look at your motives every single day. If everything is good, then you can be proud of yourself. A cowboy who looks to better himself every day doesn't feel the need to compare himself to others. ⁵ We all have to ride our own broncs.

⁶ If you're riding for God, you should take care of those who are mentorin' you and making you a top hand.

⁷ Don't be a durn fool. You can't pull the wool over God's eyes. He knows if you really tried or you were just faking. All of us will get out of it what we truly put into it. ⁸ If your ride was only about pleasing yourself, then you'll have an eternity to ride in death and decay. But those who only ride to please the Holy Ghost will have an eternity to ride in green pastures on perfect horses with ropes that ain't got a miss in 'em. ⁹ So don't give up doing the right thing. If you keep to the right trail, you're gonna find the narrow gate that leads to everything you never dreamed possible. ¹⁰ So every chance we get, let's help others out, especially those who ride for the brand.

The Last Word

¹¹ See these big letters I'm writing to you with my own hand! ¹² Those who are trying to get y'all to clip your pickles are only doing it to look good in front of others. They don't want the Jews on their case by saying Jesus is the only way to be saved. ¹³ Even those who circumcise don't follow the whole Code. They are just picking and choosing stuff to make themselves appear holy. If they get you to do it too, then they get to brag and put another notch in their pickle holster.

¹⁴ But me, I'm only going to brag about what Jesus did on the cross. My petty wants in this world died with him there. As a matter of fact, I did too. ¹⁵ It don't matter if your pickle is clipped. It matters if you're a new man. ¹⁶ May peace and mercy ride with you every step of your journey with God.

¹⁷ Finally, don't let anyone trouble y'all anymore about this foolishness. I have the scars that show I ride for the brand.

¹⁸ Cowboys and cowgirls, may the grace of Jesus be your guide. Amen.
