Jesus laid a hand on the guy's shoulder and said, "I sure enough want to. Be healed!" The hoof rot that had covered his body instantly vanished.
This light that comes from the Word shines brightly in the darkness. No matter how dark it is, the light will prevail.
At this time, the real light was riding down from heaven to join us here on earth.
And this is why they will be judged harshly, God shined a light down into this dark world to show people the way to him, but people were more interested in the dark than the light. They like things that happen in the dark.
Then Jesus stated in a commanding voice, "Lazarus, come here!"
You were once just like them, but now you live in the light, not the darkness.
No one can hide from God's light. This is why this was spoken, "Get up sleeper, rise from your grave, and Christ will light your way."
He's the only one who cannot see the noose placed around his neck. The light within him shines so bright that no mortal can even look at him, much less get close to him. Every honor and glory belongs to him and him alone. Amen.
This is what the Son told us about his Father. God is light and there is no darkness in him at all.
But I write to you now about a new one. Or maybe I should say it is the old one made new. Jesus was the embodiment of the command, and so are you who live in him. The darkness is dying away and the light has begun to shine on the horizon.
