¹ This letter is from Paul, Silas, and Timothy.

To the outfit in Thessalonica, y'all who belong to God through the grace of Jesus Christ.

Let God's amazing grace and peace rule your hearts and your ride.

The Thessalonian's Faith

² We're always thanking God for y'all and pray for you night and day. ³ While we pray, we imagine y'all out there in the pastures, whether rain or shine, wind or hail, riding for God and gathering the strays and mentoring other cowboys in the hope that y'all have in our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ We know y'all have been handpicked by God to cowboy for his outfit. He loves y'all more than you can ever imagine. ⁵ When we first gathered y'all in the sick pen and doctored you with the good news, he produced a healing inside each of you. It wasn't our words that did it, but the power of the Holy Ghost. We've kept a watchful eye for y'all ever since. ⁶ We told y'all when you saddled up for the Lord it wouldn't be easy. Y'all have suffered just like we said you would and you did it gladly, like top hands should. Y'all rode the way we showed ya and talked like we told ya. ⁷ And so y'all have become the top hands in all of Greece, including Macedonia and Achaia. ⁸ Folks have noticed your ride and now they are talking about it and wanting to learn. I don't have to explain that what they're seeing is your faith. ⁹ We've run into people who tell us how you ride. They tell us of your improvement. They tell us you no longer have other idols, but that you follow God and God alone. They've marveled at how you welcomed us with open arms. ¹⁰ But it's the other things that mean just as much. Things like how you are waiting on Jesus to ride back one day. When he gets here, he will rescue us from the prescribed burn that will consume all things and all people who've chosen to ride for themselves instead of God's outfit.
