1 Corinthians 5

Spiritual Pride and Sexual Perverts

1 And another thing, I've heard there are perverts in your outfit there. There is dirty stuff going on there that even sinners would frown on. Please tell me there isn't a man sleeping with his stepmom! 2 Y'all walk around proud like banty roosters, but you should be bawling your eyes out for letting this happen in your outfit. Some real men should take this fellow and send him down the road. 3 I may not be riding with you in person, but I'm still a part of your outfit and in the name of the Lord, I pass judgment on this no-account scoundrel.4 Call a meeting between all the cowboys and know I'm there with you in spirit. 5 Then send this man down the road and let him ride with the devil so his evil ways will be destroyed. Hopefully, he will be saved when the Lord comes riding back.

6 I can't get over why y'all would be proud to still be riding with this cowboy. Don't y'all know even a little sin will spread through your outfit like tick fever? 7 Get rid of the tick and you get rid of the fever. Then you will go from mangy to magnificent, which is what you really are. Our Passover Lamb, Christ, has been killed. 8 Now that judgment has passed us over, let us celebrate with honor and glory, not horny and gory.

9 In my last letter, I told y'all not to ride with sexual deviants. 10 Now, just to be clear, I wasn't talking about unbelievers who give into sexual sins, or those who are greedy, or those who put a foot on the scale at shipping time, or those who bow down to things other than God. You'd have to leave this world to keep from riding next to one of these every once in a while. 11 What I meant was you are not to ride in the same outfit as a believer who is a sexual deviant, or one who lusts after money, or drunks, or bullies, or horse thieves. Don't even sit at the same campfire as a believer who acts like this.

12 It ain't my job to judge outsiders, but I can sure pass judgment on those who ride for God's outfit. 13 God will take care of the outsiders, but the Good Book says, "If you find an outlaw in your outfit, send him down the road to keep your camp clean."
