I will not allow my eyes to sleepor my eyelids to slumber
I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids;
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
or close my eyes, or let myself sleep
I will not allow my eyes to sleep, or my eyelids to slumber,
I certainly will not permit my eyes to sleep Nor my eyelids to slumber,
I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids,
I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids;
Nor suffer mine eyes to sleepe, nor mine eye lids to slumber,
I will not give sleep to my eyesOr slumber to my eyelids,
I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
or close my eyelids,
I will not allow myself to sleep or even close my eyes,
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, slumber to mine eyelids,
I will not sleep or let my eyes rest,
Nor will I give sleep to mine eyes or slumber to mine eyelids
I will not rest or sleep,
I will give no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids,
if I give sleep to my eyes, slumber to my eyelids,
I wil not suffre myne eyes to slepe, ner myne eye lyddes to slober.
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, Or slumber to mine eyelids;
I will not give sleep to my eyes, or rest to my eyeballs,
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids;
I will not giue sleepe to mine eyes: or slumber to mine eyelids,
I wyll not suffer myne eyes to slepe: nor myne eye liddes to slumber.
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids, nor rest to my temples,
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids;
I schal not yyue sleep to myn iyen; and napping to myn iye liddis.
I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids;
I will not give sleep to my eyes, [or] slumber to my eyelids,
I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids,
I will not let my eyes sleep nor close my eyelids in slumber
or let sleep come and close my eyes,
I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor, to mine eye-lashes, slumber:
(131-4) If I shall give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids,
I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
If I give sleep to mine eyes, To mine eyelids -- slumber,
Contextual Overview
A Song of Ascents.
Remember, O Lord , on David's behalf, All his affliction; 2 How he swore to the Lord And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, 3 "Surely I will not enter my house, Nor lie on my bed; 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, 5 Until I find a place for the Lord , A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob." 6 Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah, We found it in the field of Jaar. 7 Let us go into His dwelling place; Let us worship at His footstool. 8 Arise, O Lord , to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. 9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your godly ones sing for joy. 10 For the sake of David Your servant, Do not turn away the face of Your anointed.Bible Verse Review

Gill's Notes on the Bible
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, [or] slumber to mine eyelids. Not that he never would or did take any sleep till this thing was brought about he had so much at heart; but that he could not and would not suffer himself to sleep comfortably and quietly because of it. Aben Ezra interprets it of sleep at noon; the phrases express his great desire and solicitude to have this affair accomplished, and his eager and diligent pursuit of it; see Proverbs 6:4; of the eager desire of Christ to suffer and die for his people, that they might be brought near to God, and be his dwelling place, see Luke 12:50.
Barnes' Notes on the Bible
I will not give sleep to mine eyes ... - There is no difference here between the words sleep and slumber. The meaning is, that the house of the Lord should be his first care.
