Hosea 6
The Response to God's Rebuke
1 "(C1)Come, let us return to the LORD.
For (C2)He has torn us, but (C3)He will heal us;
He has (F1)wounded us, but He will (C4)bandage us.
2 "He will (C1)revive us after two days;
He will (C2)raise us up on the third day,
That we may live before Him.
3 "So let us (C1)know, let us press on to know the LORD.
His (C2)going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the (C3)rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth."
4 What shall I do with you, O (C1)Ephraim?
What shall I do with you, O Judah?
For your (F1)loyalty is like a (C2)morning cloud
And like the dew which goes away early.
5 Therefore I have (C1)hewn them in pieces by the prophets;
I have slain them by the (C2)words of My mouth;
And the judgments on you are like the light that goes forth.
6 For (C1)I delight in loyalty (C2)rather than sacrifice,
And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
7 But (C1)like (F1)Adam they have (C2)transgressed the covenant;
There they have (C3)dealt treacherously against Me.
8 (C1)Gilead is a city of wrongdoers,
Tracked with (C2)bloody footprints.
9 And as (C1)raiders wait for a man,
So a band of priests (C2)murder on the way to Shechem;
Surely they have committed (F1)(C3)crime.
10 In the house of Israel I have seen a (C1)horrible thing;
Ephraim's (C2)harlotry is there, Israel has defiled itself.
11 Also, O Judah, there is a (C1)harvest appointed for you,
When I (C2)restore the fortunes of My people.
