Hosea's Second Symbolic Marriage

¹ Then the LORD said to me, "Go again, love a ^(F1)woman who is loved by her ^(F2)husband, yet an adulteress, even ^(C1)as the LORD loves the sons of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin ^(C2)cakes."² So I ^(C1)bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a ^(F1)half of barley.³ Then I said to her, "You shall ^(C1)stay with me for many days. You shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a ^(F1)man; so I will also be toward you."⁴ For the sons of Israel will remain for many days ^(C1)without king or prince, ^(C2)without sacrifice or sacred ^(C3)pillar and without ^(C4)ephod or ^(F1)(C5)household idols.⁵ Afterward the sons of Israel will ^(C1)return and seek the LORD their God and ^(C2)David their king; and ^(C3)they will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days.
