Flocks of thy sheep - Render it instead: âthe ewes of thy sheep.â The phrase is unique to Deuteronomy. The Hebrew word for âewesâ is the plural form of Ashtoreth, the well-known name of the âgoddess of the Zidoniansâ 1 Kings 11:5.
