Now he was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon came out, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed.
And he was casting out a deuil, and it was dumbe. And it came to passe, when the deuill was gone out, the dumbe spake: and the people wondred.
And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled.

And he was a castynge out a devyll which was dome. And it folowed when the devyll was gone out the domme spake and the people wondred.
And he was casting forth a demon, and it was dumb, and it came to pass, the demon having gone forth, the dumb man spake, and the multitudes wondered,
And he droue out a deuell that was domme: and it came to passe whan the deuell was departed out, the domme spake, and the people wondred.
Jesus delivered a man from a demon that had kept him speechless. The demon gone, the man started talking a blue streak, taking the crowd by complete surprise. But some from the crowd were cynical. "Black magic," they said. "Some devil trick he's pulled from his sleeve." Others were skeptical, waiting around for him to prove himself with a spectacular miracle.
One day Jesus was kickin' a demon out of a guy, and when it was gone, he began to talk.

And he was casting out a devil,.... At a certain time, either the same that is recorded in Matthew 9:32 or in Matthew 12:22 for both of them were attended with the same effect upon the people, and with the same calumny of the Pharisees, mentioned here:
and it was dumb. The Ethiopic version reads, "deaf and dumb"; that is, the devil, which possessed the man, made him both deaf and dumb; if the same as in Matthew 12:22 he was blind, as well as dumb:
and it came to pass, when the devil was gone out; of the man possessed by him, by the command of Christ:
the dumb spake; as other men did, and as he had done before; the cause being removed, the effect ceased:
and the people wondered; at the power of Christ, and concluded that he must be the Messiah, the son of David.
