Song of Solomon 2
1 "(F1)I am the (F2)(C1)rose of (C2)Sharon,
The (C3)lily of the valleys."
2 "(F1)Like a lily among the thorns,
So is (C1)my darling among the daughters."
3 "(F1)Like an (F2)(C1)apple tree among the trees of the forest,
So is my beloved among the sons.
In his shade I had great desire and sat down,
And his (C2)fruit was sweet to my (F3)taste.
4 "He has (C1)brought me to his (F1)house of banqueting,
And his (C2)banner over me is love.
5 "Sustain me with (C1)raisin cakes,
Refresh me with (F1)(C2)apples,
Because (C3)I am lovesick.
6 "Let (C1)his left hand be under my head
And (C1)his right hand (C2)embrace me."
7 "(F1)I (C1)call you to solemnly swear, O (C2)daughters of Jerusalem,
By the (C3)gazelles or by the (C4)hinds of the field,
(C1)That you do not arouse or awaken my love
Until (F2)she pleases."
The Bride Delights in Her Beloved
8 "(F1)The voice of my beloved!
Behold, he is coming,
Leaping (C1)on the mountains,
Jumping on the hills!
9 "My beloved is like a (C1)gazelle or a (C2)young (F1)stag.
Behold, he is standing behind our wall;
He gazes through the windows;
He is peering (C3)through the lattice.
10 "My beloved answered and said to me,
'(C1)Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,
And come along.
11 'For behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over; it is gone.
12 'The flowers have appeared in the land;
The time for (F1)pruning has arrived;
And the voice of the (C1)turtledove has been heard in our land.
13 'The (C1)fig tree has ripened its figs,
And the (C2)vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance.
Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,
And come along!'"
14 "(F1)O (C1)my dove, (C2)in the clefts of the (F2)rock,
In the secret place of the steep (F3)pathway,
Let me see your appearance,
(C3)Let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet,
And your appearance is (C4)lovely."
15 "(F1)(C1)Seize the foxes for us,
The (F2)little foxes that are wreaking destruction on the vineyards,
While our (C2)vineyards are in blossom."
16 "(F1)(C1)My beloved is mine, and I am his,
He who (C2)shepherds his flock among the lilies.
17 "(C1)Until the day breathes and the shadows flee,
Turn, my beloved, and be like a (C2)gazelle
Or a young stag (C3)on the mountains of (F1)Bether."
