God Stands in Judgment

¹ God takes His ^(C1)stand in the congregation of ^(F1)God;
He ^(C2)judges in the midst of ^(F2)(C3)gods.

² How long will you ^(C1)judge unrighteously
And ^(C2)show partiality to the wicked? ^Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude">(F1)Selah.

^3 (C1)Give justice to the poor and the orphan;
Justify the afflicted and destitute.

^4 (C1)Protect the poor and needy;
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

⁵ They ^(C1)do not know and do not understand;
They ^(C2)walk about in darkness;
All the ^(C3)foundations of the earth are shaken.

^6 (F1)I ^(C1)said, "You are gods,
And all of you are ^(C2)sons of the Most High.

⁷ "Nevertheless ^(C1)you will die like men
And you will fall like any ^(C2)one of the princes."

^8 (C1)Arise, O God, ^(C2)judge the earth!
For it is You who ^(C3)will inherit all the nations.
