Let God's Enemies Be Scattered

^1 (F1)Let ^(C1)God arise, ^(F2)let His enemies be scattered,
And ^(F3)let those who hate Him flee before Him.

² As ^(C1)smoke is driven away, so drive them away;
As ^(C2)wax melts before the fire,
So let the ^(C3)wicked perish before God.

³ But let the ^(C1)righteous be glad; let them exult before God;
And let them rejoice with gladness.

⁴ Sing to God, ^(C1)sing praises to His name;
^(F1)(C2)Lift up a song for Him who ^(C3)rides through the deserts,
Whose ^(C4)name is ^(F2)Yah, and exult before Him.

⁵ A ^(C1)father of the fatherless and a ^(C2)judge ^(F1)for the widows,
Is God in His ^(C3)holy habitation.

⁶ God ^(C1)causes the lonely to inhabit a home;
He ^(C2)leads out the prisoners into prosperity,
Only ^(C3)the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

⁷ O God, when You ^(C1)went forth before Your people,
When You ^(C2)marched through the wasteland, ^Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude">(F1)Selah.

⁸ The ^(C1)earth quaked;
The ^(C2)heavens also dripped rain at the presence of God;
^(F1)(C3)Sinai itself quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

⁹ You ^(C1)caused abundant rain to sprinkle down, O God;
You established Your inheritance when it was ^(F1)parched.

¹⁰ Your creatures inhabited it;
You ^(C1)established it in Your goodness for the poor, O God.

¹¹ The Lord gives the word;
The ^(C1)women who proclaim the good news are a great host:

¹² "^(C1)Kings of armies retreat, they retreat,
And she who remains at home will ^(C2)divide the spoil!"

¹³ If you men lie down ^(C1)among the ^(F1)sheepfolds,
You all would be like the wings of a dove covered with silver,
And its pinions with glistening gold.

¹⁴ When the Almighty ^(C1)dispersed the kings ^(F1)there,
It was snowing in ^(C2)Zalmon.

¹⁵ A ^(F1)(C1)mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan;
A mountain of many peaks is the mountain of Bashan.

¹⁶ Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks,
At the mountain which God has ^(C1)prized for His habitation?
Surely ^(C2)Yahweh will dwell there forever.

¹⁷ The ^(C1)chariots of God are ^(F1)myriads, ^(C2)thousands upon thousands;
^(F2)The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.

¹⁸ You have ^(C1)ascended on high, You have ^(C2)led captive Your captives;
You have received gifts among men,
Even among the rebellious also, that Yah—God—may dwell there.

¹⁹ Blessed be the Lord, who daily ^(C1)bears our burden,
^(C2)The God who is our salvation. Selah.

²⁰ God is to us a ^(C1)God of ^(F1)salvation;
And ^(C2)to Yahweh the Lord belong escapes ^(F2)from death.

²¹ Surely God will ^(C1)crush the head of His enemies,
The hairy ^(F1)skull of him who goes on in his guilty deeds.

²² The Lord ^(F1)said, "^(C1)I will bring them back from Bashan.
I will bring them back from the depths of the sea;

²³ That ^(F1)(C1)your foot may crush them in blood,
The tongue of your ^(C2)dogs may have its portion from your enemies."

²⁴ They have seen ^(C1)Your ^(F1)procession, O God,
The ^(F1)procession of my God, my King, ^(F2)(C2)into the sanctuary.

²⁵ The ^(C1)singers went on, the musicians after them,
^(F1)In the midst of the ^(C2)maidens beating tambourines.

^26 (C1)Bless God in the congregations,
Yahweh, the ^(C2)fountain of Israel.

²⁷ There is ^(C1)Benjamin, the ^(F1)youngest, ^(F2)having dominion over them,
The princes of Judah in their throng,
The princes of ^(C2)Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.

^28 (F1)Your God has ^(C1)commanded your strength;
Show Yourself strong, O God, ^(C2)who has worked ^(F2)on our behalf.

^29 (F1)Because of Your temple at Jerusalem
^(C1)Kings will bring gifts to You.

³⁰ Rebuke the ^(C1)beast ^(F1)in the reeds,
The herd of ^(C2)bulls with the calves of the peoples,
Trampling under foot the pieces of silver;
He has ^(C3)cast out the peoples who delight in war.

³¹ Envoys will come out of ^(C1)Egypt;
^(F1)(C2)Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to God.

³² Sing to God, O ^(C1)kingdoms of the earth,
^(C2)Sing praises to the Lord, Selah.

³³ To Him who ^(C1)rides upon the ^(F1)(C2)highest heavens, which are from ancient times;
Behold, ^(C3)He gives forth His voice, a ^(C4)voice that is strong.

^34 (C1)Ascribe strength to God;
His majesty is over Israel
And ^(C2)His strength is in the ^(F1)skies.

^35 (F1)O God, You are ^(C1)awesome from Your ^(F2)sanctuary.
The God of Israel Himself ^(C2)gives strength and might to the people.
^(C3)Blessed be God!
