The women who had been companions of Jesus from Galilee followed along. They saw the tomb where Jesus' body was placed. Then they went back to prepare burial spices and perfumes. They rested quietly on the Sabbath, as commanded.
The ladies from Galilee had stood watching all of this and saw where Joseph laid the body.

Verse Luke 23:55. The women also, which came — These were Mary of Magdala, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, Luke 24:10. To these three, Mark, in Mark 16:1, adds, Salome; but some think that this was only a surname of one of these Marys.
