1 Corinthians 2
Paul's Reliance upon the Spirit
1 And when I came to you, brothers, I (C1)did not come with superiority of word or of wisdom, proclaiming to you (C2)the (F1)witness of God.2 For I determined to know nothing among you except (C1)Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.3 And I was with you in (C1)weakness and in (C2)fear and in much trembling,4 and my word and my preaching were (C1)not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of (C2)the Spirit and of power,5 so that your faith would not be in the wisdom of men, but in (C1)the power of God.
6 Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are (C1)mature, a wisdom, however, not of (C2)this age nor of the rulers of (C2)this age, who are (C3)being abolished.7 But we speak God's wisdom in a (C1)mystery, the wisdom which has been hidden, which God (C2)predestined before the (C3)ages to our glory,8 (C1)which none of the rulers of (C2)this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified (C3)the Lord of glory.9 But just as it is written,
"(C1)THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."
14 But (F1)a (C1)natural man (C2)does not accept the depths of the Spirit of God, for they are (C3)foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because (C4)they are spiritually examined.15 But he who is (C1)spiritual examines all things, yet he himself is examined by no one.16 For (C1)WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE (F1)LORD, THAT HE WILL DIRECT HIM? But (C2)we have the mind of Christ.
