Psalms 4
1 Answer me when I call,
God, who vindicates me.(F1)(C2)
You freed me from affliction;(C3)
be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
2 How long, exalted ones,(F1) will my honor be insulted?(C1)
How long will you love what is worthless(C2)
and pursue a lie? Selah3 Know that the Lord has set apart
the faithful for himself;
the Lord will hear when I call to him.4 Be angry(F1) and do not sin;(C1)
on your bed, reflect in your heart and be still.(C2)Selah5 Offer sacrifices in righteousness(F1)(C1)
and trust in the Lord.(C2)
6 Many are asking, “Who can show us anything good?”
Let the light of your face shine on us, Lord.(C1)
7 You have put more joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and new wine abound.(C1)8 I will both lie down and sleep in peace,(C1)
for you alone, Lord, make me live in safety.(C2)
