Read the Bible

⁴ Come to Bethel and rebel;
rebel even more at Gilgal!^(C1)
Bring your sacrifices every morning,^(C2)
your tenths every three days.⁵ Offer leavened bread as a thank offering,^(C1)
and loudly proclaim your freewill offerings,^(C2)
for that is what you Israelites love to do!^(C3)

⁷ I also withheld the rain from you^(C1)
while there were still three months until harvest.
I sent rain on one city
but no rain on another.^(C2)
One field received rain
while a field with no rain withered.^(C3)8 Two or three cities staggered
to another city to drink water^(C1)
but were not satisfied,^(C2)
yet you did not return^(C3) to me.This is the Lord’s declaration.

⁹ I struck you with blight and mildew;^(C1)
the locust devoured^(C2)
your many gardens and vineyards,
your fig trees and olive trees,^(C3)
yet you did not return to me.^(C4)This is the Lord’s declaration.

¹⁰ I sent plagues like those of Egypt;^(C1)
I killed your young men with the sword,^(C2)
along with your captured horses.^(C3)
I caused the stench of your camp
to fill your nostrils,^(C4)
yet you did not return to me.^(C5)This is the Lord’s declaration.

¹¹ I overthrew some of you
as I^(F1) overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,^(C1)
and you were like a burning stick
snatched from a fire,^(C2)
yet you did not return to me^(C3)—This is the Lord’s declaration.

¹² Therefore, Israel, that is what I will do to you,
and since I will do that to you,
Israel, prepare to meet your God!^(C1)13 He is here:
the one who forms the mountains,^(C1)
creates the wind,^(C2)
and reveals his thoughts to man,^(C3)
the one who makes the dawn out of darkness
and strides on the heights of the earth.^(C4)
The Lord, the God of Armies, is his name.^(C5)
