Cross-References
In the course of time Kayin brought an offering to Adonai from the produce of the soil;
and Hevel too brought from the firstborn of his sheep, including their fat. Adonai accepted Hevel and his offering
You are banning me today from the land and from your presence. I will be a fugitive wandering the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."
Kayin had sexual relations with his wife; she conceived and gave birth to Hanokh. Kayin built a city and named the city after his son Hanokh.
To Hanokh was born ‘Irad. ‘Irad fathered Mechuya'el, Mechuya'el fathered Metusha'el, and Metusha'el fathered Lemekh.
Lemekh said to his wives, "‘Adah and Tzilah, listen to me; wives of Lemekh, hear what I say: I killed a man for wounding me, a young man who injured me.
If Kayin will be avenged sevenfold, then Lemekh seventy-sevenfold!"

Gill's Notes on the Bible
And Eshton begat Bethrapha,.... Or the family of Rapha:
and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Irnahash; or the city of Nahash; Tehinnah seems to have been the prince or governor of a city, so called:
these are the men of Rechah; these sons of Eshton dwelt in a place called Rechah; the Targum, without any reason, says, these are the men of the great sanhedrim.
Barnes' Notes on the Bible
It has been conjectured from the strangeness of all the names in this list, that we have here a fragment of Canaanite record, connected with the family of the âShua,â whose daughter Judah took to wife 1 Chronicles 2:3; Genesis 38:2, and whose family thus became related to the tribe of Judah.
Clarke's Notes on the Bible
Verse 1 Chronicles 4:12. These are the men of Rechah. — "These are the men of the great Sanhedrin." - T.
