“My son,” David said to Solomon, “It was in my heart to build a house for the name of the Lord my God,
David said to Shlomo his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of the LORD my God.
And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God:
David said to Solomon, "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house to the name of the Lord my God.
David said to him, "My son, I wanted to build a temple for worshiping the Lord my God.
David said to Solomon: "My son, I really wanted to build a temple to honor the Lord my God.
David said to Solomon, "My son, I had intended to build a house for the Name (Presence) of the LORD my God.

And Dauid said to Salomon, My sonne, I purposed with my selfe to builde an house to the Name of the Lorde my God,

And David said to Solomon, As for me, my son, I was minded to build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God.
David said to Solomon, "My son, I wanted to build a temple for the name of the Lord my God.
You shall build a house for the LORD God of Israel;
David said to him, "Son, I wanted to build a temple to honor the Lord my God.
And David said to Solomon his son, "I myself had in my heart to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God,
And David said to his son Solomon, As for me, it has been in my heart to build a house to the name of Jehovah my God.
and sayde vnto him: My sonne, I was minded to buylde an house vnto the name of the LORDE my God,
And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God.
And David said to Solomon, My son, it was my desire to put up a house for the name of the Lord my God.
And Dauid sayde to Solomon: My sonne, I thought [as it was] in myne heart to buylde an house vnto the name of the Lorde my God:
And David said to Solomon: 'My son, as for me, it was in my heart to build a house unto the name of the LORD my God.
And Dauid saide to Solomon; My sonne, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house vnto the Name of the Lord my God.
And David said to Solomon, My child, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of the Lord God.

and David saith to Solomon his son, `As for me, it hath been with my heart to build a house to the name of Jehovah my God,
David said to Solomon, "I wanted in the worst way to build a sanctuary to honor my God . But God prevented me, saying, ‘You've killed too many people, fought too many wars. You are not the one to honor me by building a sanctuary—you've been responsible for too much killing, too much bloodshed. But you are going to have a son and he will be a quiet and peaceful man, and I will calm his enemies down on all sides. His very name will speak peace—that is, Solomon, which means Peace—and I'll give peace and rest under his rule. He will be the one to build a sanctuary in my honor. He'll be my royal adopted son and I'll be his father; and I'll make sure that the authority of his kingdom over Israel lasts forever.'
David said to Solomon, "My son, I had intended to build a house to the name of the LORD my God.
