¹ I lyft vp myne eyes vnto thee: who dwellest in heauen.² Beholde, as the eyes of seruauntes [loke] vnto the hande of their maisters, and as the eyes of a mayden vnto the hande of her maistresse: euen so our eyes [wayte] vpon God our Lorde vntyll he haue mercie vpon vs.³ Haue mercy vpon vs O God, haue mercy vpon vs: for we haue suffered enough of dispite.⁴ Our soule is filled with the scornefull reprofe of the wealthy: and with the dispitefulnes of the proude.
