¹⁷ For Issachar the fourth heritage came out, for the children of Issachar by their families; ¹⁸ And their limit was to Jezreel and Chesulloth and Shunem ¹⁹ And Hapharaim and Shion and Anaharath ²⁰ And Rabbith and Kishion and Ebez ²¹ And Remeth and En-gannim and En-haddah and Beth-pazzez; ²² And their limit goes as far as Tabor and Shahazimah and Beth-shemesh, ending at Jordan; sixteen towns with their unwalled places. ²³ This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Issachar by their families, these towns with their unwalled places.

See now, your servant has had grace in your eyes and great is your mercy in keeping my life from destruction, but I am not able to get as far as the mountain before evil overtakes me and death;

Go there quickly, for I am not able to do anything till you have come there. For this reason, the town was named Zoar.

And he sent destruction on those towns, with all the lowland and all the people of those towns and every green thing in the land.

And Hapharaim,.... The first of these is by Jerom y called Aphraim, a city of the tribe of Issachar; and adds, there is at this day a village called Affarea, six miles from Legion to the north;

and Shion; of Seon or Soen, the same with Shion here, he says z, there was a village of this name shown in his time near Mount Tabor;

and Anaharath, of which we have no account elsewhere.
