Psalms 47

   |

God the King of the Earth.

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1 O (C1)clap your hands, all you people;
(C2)Shout to God with the voice of triumph and songs of joy.

2 For the LORD Most High is to be (C1)feared and worshiped with awe-inspired reverence and obedience;
He is a (C2)great King over all the earth.

3 He (C1)subdues peoples under us
And nations under our feet.

4 He chooses our (C1)inheritance for us,
The (C2)glory and excellence of Jacob whom He loves. (VR1) Selah.

5 God has (C1)ascended amid shouting,
The LORD with the (C2)sound of a trumpet.

6 (C1)Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to (C2)our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the (C1)King of all the earth;
Sing praises (C2)in a skillful psalm and with understanding.

8 God (C1)reigns over the nations;
God sits on (C2)His holy throne.

9 The (C1)princes of the people have gathered together as the (C2)people of the God of Abraham,
For the (C3)shields of the earth belong to God;
He is (C4)highly exalted.
