Evening Prayer of Trust in God.

^1 (C1)Answer me when ^(C2)I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have ^(C3)freed me when I was hemmed in and relieved me when I was in distress;
Be ^(C4)gracious to me and ^(C5)hear and respond to my prayer.

² O sons of men, how long will ^(C1)my honor and glory be turned into ^(C2)shame?
How long will you my enemies love ^(C3)worthless (vain, futile) things and seek ^(C4)deception and lies? Selah.

³ But know that the LORD has ^(C1)set apart for Himself and dealt wonderfully with the ^(C2)godly man the one of honorable character and moral courage—the one who does right.
The LORD ^(C3)hears and responds when I call to Him.

^4 (C1)Tremble with anger or fear, ^(C2)and do not sin;
^(C3)Meditate in your heart upon your bed and be still reflect on your sin and repent of your rebellion. ^(VR1) Selah.

⁵ Offer righteous ^(C1)sacrifices;
^(C2)Trust confidently in the LORD.

⁶ Many are saying, "Oh, ^(C1)that we might see some good!"
^(C2)Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O LORD.

⁷ You have put ^(C1)joy in my heart,
More than others know when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.

⁸ In peace and with a tranquil heart I will both ^(C1)lie down and sleep,
For You alone, O LORD, make me ^(C2)dwell in safety and confident trust.
