Read the Bible

The LORD, the Psalmist's Portion in Life and Deliverer in Death.

^1 (C1)Keep and protect me, O God, for in You ^(C2)I have placed my trust and found refuge.

² I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord;
I ^(C1)have no good besides You."

³ As for the ^(C1)saints (godly people) who are in the land,
They are the majestic and the noble and the excellent ones ^(C2)in whom is all my delight.

⁴ The ^(C1)sorrows pain and suffering of those who have chosen another god will be multiplied because of their idolatry;
I will not pour out their drink offerings of ^(C2)blood,
Nor will I ^(C3)take their names upon my lips.

⁵ The LORD is the ^(C1)portion of my inheritance, my ^(C2)cup He is all I need;
You support my ^(C3)lot.

⁶ The boundary ^(C1)lines of the land have fallen for me in pleasant places;
Indeed, my heritage is ^(C2)beautiful to me.

⁷ I will bless the LORD who has ^(C1)counseled me;
Indeed, my ^(C2)heart (mind) instructs me in the night.

^8 (C1)I have ^(C2)set the LORD continually before me;
Because He is ^(C3)at my right hand, ^(C4)I will not be shaken.

⁹ Therefore ^(C1)my heart is glad and ^(C2)my glory my innermost self rejoices;
My body too will ^(C3)dwell confidently in safety,

¹⁰ For You ^(C1)will not abandon me to Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead),
Nor will You ^(C2)allow Your Holy One to undergo decay. ^(VR1)

¹¹ You will show me ^(C1)the path of life;
In ^(C2)Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are ^(C3)pleasures forevermore. ^(VR1)
