Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

^1 (C1)I love the LORD, because He ^(C2)hears and continues to hear
My voice and my supplications (my pleas, my cries, my specific needs).

² Because He has ^(C1)inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call on Him as long as I live.

³ The ^(C1)cords and sorrows of death encompassed me,
And the terrors of Sheol came upon me;
I found distress and sorrow.

⁴ Then ^(C1)I called on the name of the LORD:
"O LORD, please ^(C2)save my life!"

^5 (C1)Gracious is the LORD, and consistently ^(C2)righteous;
Yes, our God is ^(C3)compassionate.

^6 (F1)The LORD protects ^(C1)the simple (childlike);
I was ^(C2)brought low humbled and discouraged, and He saved me.

⁷ Return to your ^(C1)rest, O my soul,
For the LORD has ^(C2)dealt bountifully with you. ^(VR1)

⁸ For You have ^(C1)rescued my life from death,
My eyes from tears,
And my feet from stumbling and falling.

⁹ I will walk in submissive wonder before the LORD
In the ^(C1)land of the living.

¹⁰ I ^(C1)believed and clung to my God when I said,
"I am ^(C2)greatly afflicted." ^(VR1)

¹¹ I ^(C1)said in my alarm,
"^(C2)All men are liars."

¹² What will I ^(C1)give to the LORD in return
For all His ^(C2)benefits toward me?
How can I repay Him for His precious blessings?

¹³ I will lift up the ^(C1)cup of salvation
And ^(C2)call on the name of the LORD.

¹⁴ I will ^(C1)pay my vows to the LORD,
Yes, ^(C2)in the presence of all His people.

^15 (F1)(C1)Precious and of great consequence in the sight of the LORD
Is the death of His godly ones so He watches over them.

¹⁶ O LORD, truly I am ^(C1)Your servant;
I am Your servant, the ^(C2)son of Your handmaid;
You have ^(C3)unfastened my chains.

¹⁷ I will offer to You the ^(C1)sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And will ^(C2)call on the name of the LORD.

¹⁸ I will ^(C1)pay my vows to the LORD,
Yes, in the presence of all His people,

¹⁹ In the ^(C1)courts of the LORD'S house (temple)—
In the midst of you, O ^(C2)Jerusalem.
Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)
