Psalms 103

   |

Praise for the LORD'S Mercies.

A Psalm of David.

1 (C1)Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is deep within me, bless His (C2)holy name.

2 Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul,
And do not (C1)forget any of His benefits;

3 Who (C1)forgives all your sins,
Who (C2)heals all your diseases;

4 Who (C1)redeems your life from the pit,
Who (C2)crowns you lavishly with lovingkindness and tender mercy;

5 Who (C1)satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is (C2)renewed like the soaring eagle. (VR1)

6 The LORD (C1)executes righteousness
And justice for all the (C2)oppressed.

7 He (C1)made known His ways of righteousness and justice to Moses,
His (C2)acts to the children of Israel.

8 The LORD is (C1)merciful and gracious,
(C2)Slow to anger and abounding in compassion and lovingkindness. (VR1)

9 He (C1)will not always strive with us,
Nor will He (C2)keep His anger forever.

10 He has (C1)not dealt with us according to our sins as we deserve,
Nor rewarded us with punishment according to our wickedness.

11 For (C1)as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear and worship Him with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence.

12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He (C1)removed our transgressions from us.

13 (C1)Just as a father loves his children,
So the LORD loves those who fear and worship Him with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence.

14 For (C1)He knows our mortal frame;
He (C2)remembers that we are merely (C3)dust.

15 As for man, his days are like (C1)grass;
Like a (C2)flower of the field, so he flourishes.

16 For the (C1)wind passes over it and it is no more,
And its (C2)place knows it no longer.

17 But the (C1)lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who reverently fear Him,
And His righteousness (C2)to children's children, (VR1)

18 To (C1)those who honor and keep His covenant,
And remember to do His commandments imprinting His word on their hearts.

19 The LORD has established His (C1)throne in the heavens,
And His (C2)sovereignty rules over all the universe.

20 Bless the LORD, you (C1)His angels,
You (C2)mighty ones who (C3)do His commandments,
(C4)Obeying the voice of His word!

21 Bless the LORD, all you (C1)His hosts,
You (C2)who serve Him and do His will.

22 Bless the LORD, (C1)all you works of His, in all places of His dominion;
Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul!
