The Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted.

^1 (F1)Blessed fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God is the man who does not ^(C1)walk in the ^(C2)counsel of the wicked following their advice and example,
Nor stand in the ^(C3)path of sinners,
Nor ^(C4)sit down to rest in the seat of ^(F2)scoffers (ridiculers).

² But his ^(C1)delight is ^(C2)in the law of the LORD,
And on His law His precepts and teachings he habitually meditates ^(C3)day and ^(C4)night. ^(VR1)

³ And he will be like ^(C1)a tree firmly planted and fed by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season;
Its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he ^(C2)prospers and comes to maturity. ^(VR1)

⁴ The wicked those who live in disobedience to God's law are not so,
But they are like the ^(C1)chaff worthless and without substance which the wind blows away.

⁵ Therefore ^(C1)the wicked will not stand unpunished in the ^(C2)judgment,
Nor sinners in ^(C3)the assembly of the righteous.

⁶ For the LORD ^(C1)knows and fully approves the way of the righteous,
But the way of ^(C2)the wicked shall perish.
