1 The people of Jerusalem made his youngest son Ahaziah king in his place. For the army of men who came with the Arabs to the tents had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah, the son of King Jehoram of Judah, began to rule.

Raiders from the desert, who had come with the Arabs against the settlement, had killed all the older sons. That's how Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah became king. Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, but reigned only one year in Jerusalem. His mother was Athaliah, granddaughter of Omri. He lived and ruled just like the Ahab family had done, his mother training him in evil ways. God also considered him evil, related by both marriage and sin to the Ahab clan. After the death of his father, he attended the sin school of Ahab, and graduated with a degree in doom. He did what they taught him, went with Joram son of Ahab king of Israel in the war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead. Joram, wounded by the Arameans, retreated to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he received in Ramah in his war with Hazael king of Aram. Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah paid a visit to Joram son of Ahab on his sickbed at Jezreel.

3 He walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother gave him evil advice. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ach'av; for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.

3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in doing wickedly. 3 Ahaziah followed the ways of Ahab's family, because his mother encouraged him to do wrong. 3 He followed in the footsteps of Ahab's dynasty, for his mother gave him evil advice. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his adviser and she encouraged him to act wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to act wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly. 3 He walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother counselled him to doe wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.3 Ahaziah also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in wickedness. 3 and she encouraged her son to sin against the Lord. He followed the evil example of King Ahab and his descendants. 3 He too lived after the example of the house of Ach'av, because his mother was his counselor in acting wickedly.

3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly. 3 Ahaziah also lived the way Ahab's family lived because his mother encouraged him to do wrong things.3 And he walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for he was the son of Ahabs sister. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor for doing wickedness. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to do evilly.3 And he walked also in ye wayes of the house of Achab: for his mother entysed him so yt he was vngodly. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly. 3 He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, for his mother was his teacher in evil-doing.3 And he walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother by her counsel enticed him to do wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.3 Hee also walked in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counseller to doe wickedly. 3 And he walked in the way of the house of Achaab; for his mother was his counsellor to do evil. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly. 3 But he entride bi the weie of the hows of Achab; for his modir compellide hym to do yuele.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to do wickedly. 3 Ahaziah also followed the evil example of King Ahab's family, for his mother encouraged him in doing wrong. 3 Ahaziah walked in the ways of those of Ahab's house. For his mother talked him into doing sinful things. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in doing wickedly. 3 He too, walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, - for, his mother, became his counselor, to work lawlessness.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Achab: for his mother pushed him on to do wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in doing wickedly.3 he also hath walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother hath been his counsellor to do wickedly.3 he has also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother has been his counselor to do wickedly.3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.4 So he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight like the house of Ahab, for they were his advisers after the death of his father, to his destruction. 4 He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ach'av; for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.

4 Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the Lord like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction. 4 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done. For after the death of his father they were his counselors, to his undoing. 4 Ahaziah did what the Lord said was wrong, as Ahab's family had done. They gave advice to Ahaziah after his father died, and their bad advice led to his death. 4 He did evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab's dynasty because, after his father's death, they gave him advice that led to his destruction. 4 So he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab, for they were his advisers after the death of his father, resulting in (C1)his destruction.4 So he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab, for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to (C1)his own destruction.4 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did the house of Ahab; for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction. 4 Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lorde, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction.4 And he did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh like the house of Ahab, for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to (C1)his destruction.4 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done, for to his destruction they were his counselors after the death of his father. 4 In fact, after his father's death, Ahaziah sinned against the Lord by appointing some of Ahab's relatives to be his advisors.

Their advice led to his downfall. 4 So he did what was evil from Adonai's perspective, as had the house of Ach'av; because, to his destruction, they were his counselors after his father died;

4 And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah like the house of Ahab; for they were his counsellors after the death of his father, to his destruction. 4 Ahaziah did evil in the Lord's sight. That is what Ahab's family did. Ahab's family gave advice to Ahaziah after Ahaziah's father died. They gave Ahaziah bad advice that led to his death.4 He also committed many sins and did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab; for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction, 4 He sinned against the Lord, because after his father's death other members of King Ahab's family became his advisers, and they led to his downfall. 4 And he did evil in the eyes of Yahweh as the house of Ahab had done, for they were his counselors to his destruction after the death of his father. 4 And he did evil in the eyes of Jehovah, like the house of Ahab, for they were his counselors after the death of his father, for his destruction.4 Therfore dyd he euell in ye sighte of the LORDE, euen as ye house of Achab: for they were his councell geuers after his fathers death, to destroye him, and he walked after their councell. 4 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as did the house of Ahab; for they were his counsellors after the death of his father, to his destruction. 4 And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as the family of Ahab did; for after the death of his father they were his guides to his destruction.4 Wherfore he dyd that which was euyll in the sight of the Lord, as dyd they that were of the house of Ahab: for they were his counselers after the death of his father, to his destruction.4 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab; for they were his counsellors after the death of his father, to his destruction.4 Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction. 4 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord as the house of Achaab had done: for they were his counselors after the death of his father to his destruction. 4 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors: after the death of his father, to his destruction. 4 Therfor he dide yuel in the siyt of the Lord, as the hows of Achab; for thei weren counselouris to hym in to his perischyng, aftir the deth of his fadir;4 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did the house of Ahab; for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.4 Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counselors, after the death of his father, to his destruction.4 Therefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD, like the house of Ahab; for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction. 4 He did what was evil in the Lord's sight, just as Ahab's family had done. They even became his advisers after the death of his father, and they led him to ruin. 4 He did what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord, as those of Ahab's house had done. For after his father's death, they talked with him about what to do, and so caused him to be destroyed. 4 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done; for after the death of his father they were his counselors, to his ruin. 4 Wherefore he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, like the house of Ahab, - for, they, became his counselors, after the death of his father, to his destruction.4 So he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as the house of Achab did: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father, to his destruction.4 He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done; for after the death of his father they were his counselors, to his undoing.4 And he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, like the house of Ahab, for they have been his counsellors, after the death of his father, for destruction to him.4 And he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, like the house of Ahab, for they have been his counselors, after the death of his father, for destruction to him.4 He did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab, for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to (C1)his destruction.5 He also followed their advice and went with Joram(F1) son of Israel’s King Ahab to fight against King Hazael of Aram, in Ramoth-gilead. The Arameans(F2) wounded Joram, 5 He walked also after their counsel, and went with Yehoram the son of Ach'av king of Yisra'el to war against Haza'el king of Aram at Ramot-Gil`ad: and the Aram wounded Yoram.

5 He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramothgilead: and the Syrians smote Joram. 5 He even followed their counsel and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to make war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead. And the Syrians wounded Joram, 5 Following their advice, Ahaziah went with Joram son of Ahab to Ramoth in Gilead, where they fought against Hazael king of Aram. The Arameans wounded Joram. 5 He followed their advice and joined Ahab's son King Joram of Israel in a battle against King Hazael of Syria at Ramoth Gilead in which the Syrians defeated Joram.

Ahaziah Allies with Jehoram of Israel

5 He also walked in accordance with their advice, and he went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to wage war against Hazael king of Aram (Syria) at Ramoth-gilead. And the (C1)Arameans wounded (F1)Joram (Jehoram). (VR1)

7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

7 But it was ordained by[b] God that the downfall of Ahaziah should come about through his going to visit Joram. For when he came there, (d)he went out with Jehoram to meet Jehu the son of Nimshi, (e)whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
