Then I saw ^(C1)an angel coming down from heaven, holding the ^(C2)key of the abyss and a great chain ^(F1)in his hand.

And he took hold of the ^(C1)dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and ^(C2)bound him for a thousand years;

and he threw him into the ^(C1)abyss and shut it and ^(C2)sealed it over him, so that he would ^(C3)not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

Then I saw ^(C1)thrones, and ^(C2)they sat on them, and ^(C3)judgment was given to them. And I saw ^(C4)the souls of those who had been beheaded because of ^(F1)their ^(C5)testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not ^(C6)worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the ^(C7)mark on their foreheads and on their hands; and they ^(C8)came to life and ^(C9)reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. ^(C1)This is the first resurrection.
