For the director of music. A psalm of David. A song.

Praise awaits^[b] you, our God, in Zion;^(a) to you our vows will be fulfilled.^(b)

You who answer prayer, to you all people will come.^(c)

When we were overwhelmed by sins,^(d) you forgave^[c] our transgressions.^(e)

Blessed are those you choose^(f) and bring near^(g) to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house,^(h) of your holy temple.

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,⁽ⁱ⁾ God our Savior,^(j) the hope of all the ends of the earth^(k) and of the farthest seas,^(l)

who formed the mountains^(m) by your power, having armed yourself with strength,⁽ⁿ⁾

who stilled the roaring of the seas,^(o) the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.^(p)

The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.^(q)

You care for the land and water it;^(r) you enrich it abundantly.^(s) The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain,^(t) for so you have ordained it.^[d]

You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers^(u) and bless its crops.

You crown the year with your bounty,^(v) and your carts overflow with abundance.^(w)

The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;^(x) the hills are clothed with gladness.^(y)

The meadows are covered with flocks^(z) and the valleys are mantled with grain;^(aa) they shout for joy and sing.^(ab)

Shout for joy to God, all the earth!^(a)

Sing the glory of his name;^(b) make his praise glorious.^(c)

Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!^(d) So great is your power that your enemies cringe^(e) before you.

All the earth bows down^(f) to you; they sing praise^(g) to you, they sing the praises of your name."^[a]

Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds^(h) for mankind!

He turned the sea into dry land,⁽ⁱ⁾ they passed through^(j) the waters on foot— come, let us rejoice^(k) in him.

He rules forever^(l) by his power, his eyes watch^(m) the nations— let not the rebellious⁽ⁿ⁾ rise up against him.

Praise^(o) our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;

he has preserved our lives^(p) and kept our feet from slipping.^(q)

For you, God, tested^(r) us; you refined us like silver.^(s)

You brought us into prison^(t) and laid burdens^(u) on our backs.

You let people ride over our heads;^(v) we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.^(w)

I will come to your temple with burnt offerings^(x) and fulfill my vows^(y) to you—

vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.

I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats.^(z)

Come and hear,^(aa) all you who fear God; let me tell^(ab) you what he has done for me.

I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.

If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;^(ac)

but God has surely listened and has heard^(ad) my prayer.

Praise be to God, who has not rejected^(ae) my prayer or withheld his love from me!

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—^[b](a)

so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation^(b) among all nations.^(c)

May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.^(d)

May the nations be glad and sing for joy,^(e) for you rule the peoples with equity^(f) and guide the nations of the earth.^(g)

May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.

The land yields its harvest;^(h) God, our God, blesses us.⁽ⁱ⁾

May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth^(j) will fear him.^(k)
