Jeremiah Buys a Field

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the tenth(a) year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth(b) year of Nebuchadnezzar.

Zedekiah(h) king of Judah will not escape(i) the Babylonians[a](j) but will certainly be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him with his own eyes.

Warning to Zedekiah

While Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army and all the kingdoms and peoples(a) in the empire he ruled were fighting against Jerusalem(b) and all its surrounding towns, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord :
