Ezekiel 2-3

Chapter 2

The Prophet's Call

1 Then He said to me, "Son of man, (C1)stand on your feet, and I will speak with you."2 And as He spoke to me the (C1)Spirit entered me and set me on my feet; and I heard Him speaking to me.3 Then He said to me, "Son of man, I am sending you to the sons of Israel, to a rebellious people who have (C1)rebelled against Me; (C2)they and their fathers have revolted against Me to this very day.4 "So I am sending you to those who are (F1)(C1)impudent and obstinate children, and you shall say to them, 'This is what the Lord (F2)GOD says:'5 "As for them, (C1)whether they listen or (F1)not—for they are a rebellious house—they will (C2)know that a prophet has been among them.6 "And as for you, son of man, you are (C1)not to fear them nor fear their words, though (C2)thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; you are not to fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, since they are a rebellious house.7 "But you shall (C1)speak My words to them (C2)whether they listen or (F1)not, for they are rebellious.

8 "Now you, son of man, listen to what I am speaking to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth wide and (C1)eat what I am giving you."9 Then I looked, and behold, a (C1)hand was extended to me; and behold, a (F1)(C2)scroll was in it.10 When He spread it out before me, it was written on the front and back, and written on it were songs of mourning, sighing, and (C1)woe.

Chapter 3

Ezekiel's Commission

1 Then He said to me, "Son of man, eat what you find; (C1)eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel."2 So I (C1)opened my mouth, and He fed me this scroll.3 And He said to me, "Son of man, feed your stomach and (C1)fill your (F1)body with this scroll which I am giving you." Then I (C2)ate it, and it was as sweet as (C3)honey in my mouth.

4 Then He said to me, "Son of man, (F1)go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them.5 "For (C1)you are not being sent to a people of (F1)(C2)unintelligible speech or difficult language, but to the house of Israel,6 nor to many peoples of (F1)unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. (F2)But I have sent you to (F3)the people who understand you;7 yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are (C1)not willing to listen to Me. The entire house of Israel certainly is (F1)stubborn and obstinate.8 "Behold, I have made your face just as hard as their faces, and your forehead just as hard as their foreheads.9 "Like emery harder than flint I have made your forehead. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, since they are a rebellious house."10 Moreover, He said to me, "Son of man, take into your heart all My (C1)words which I will speak to you and listen (F1)closely.11 "(F1)Go to the exiles, to the sons of your people, and speak to them and tell them, whether they listen or (F2)not, 'This is what the Lord (F3)GOD says.'"

12 Then the (C1)Spirit lifted me up, and I heard a great (C2)rumbling sound behind me: "Blessed be the glory of the LORD from His place!"13 And I heard the sound of the wings of the living beings touching one another and the sound of the (C1)wheels beside them, even a great rumbling sound.14 So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away; and I went embittered in the rage of my spirit, and (C1)the hand of the LORD was strong on me.15 Then I came to the exiles who lived beside the river Chebar at Tel-abib, and I sat there for (C1)seven days where they were living, causing consternation among them.

16 Now (C1)at the end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me, saying,17 "Son of man, I have appointed you as a (C1)watchman for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, (C2)warn them from Me.18 "When I say to the wicked, 'You will certainly die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way so that he may live, that wicked person shall die for wrongdoing, but his (C1)blood I will require from your hand.19 "However if you have (C1)warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die for wrongdoing, but you have (C2)saved yourself.20 "Again, (C1)when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits sin, and I place an (C2)obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require from your hand.21 "However, if you have (C1)warned (F1)the righteous person that the righteous is not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall certainly live because he took warning; and you have saved yourself."

22 Now the hand of the LORD was on me there, and He said to me, "Get up, go out to the plain, and there I will (C1)speak to you."23 So I got up and went out to the plain; and behold, the (C1)glory of the LORD was standing there, like the glory that (C2)I saw by the river Chebar, and I fell on my face.24 But the (C1)Spirit entered me and set me up on my feet; and He spoke with me and said to me, "Go, shut yourself inside your house.25 "And as for you, son of man, they will (C1)put ropes (F1)around you and bind you with them so that you do not go out among them.26 "Moreover, (C1)I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be unable to speak and will not be a man who reprimands them, since they are a rebellious house.27 "But (C1)when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you will say to them, 'This is what the Lord (F1)GOD says:' The one who hears, let him hear; and the one who refuses, let him refuse; (C2)for they are a rebellious house.

Psalms 149

Chapter 149

Israel Invoked to Praise the LORD.

1 (F1)Praise (F2)the LORD!
Sing a (C1)new song to the LORD,
And His praise (C2)in the congregation of the godly ones.

2 Israel shall be joyful in (C1)his Maker;
The sons of Zion shall rejoice in their (C2)King.

3 They shall praise His name with (C1)dancing;
They shall sing praises to Him with (C2)tambourine and lyre.

4 For the LORD (C1)takes pleasure in His people;
He will (C2)glorify the lowly with salvation.

5 The (C1)godly ones shall be jubilant in glory;
They shall (C2)sing for joy on their beds.

6 The (C1)high praises of God shall be in their (F1)mouths,
And a (C2)two-edged (C3)sword in their hands,

7 To (C1)execute vengeance on the nations,
And punishment on the peoples,

8 To bind their kings (C1)with chains,
And their (C2)dignitaries with shackles of iron,

9 To (C1)execute against them the judgment written.
This is an (C2)honor for all His godly ones.
(F1)Praise (F2)the LORD!

Galatians 6

Chapter 6

Bear One Another's Burdens

1 (C1)Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are (C2)spiritual are to (C3)restore such a person (C4)in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.2 (C1)Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill (C2)the law of Christ.3 For (C1)if anyone thinks that he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.4 But each one must (C1)examine his own work, and then he will have reason for (C2)boasting, but (F1)to himself alone, and not (F1)to another.5 For (C1)each one will bear his own load.

6 (C1)The one who is taught (C2)the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.7 (C1)Do not be deceived, (C2)God is not mocked; for (C3)whatever a person sows, this he will also reap.8 (C1)For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap (C2)destruction from the flesh, but (C3)the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.9 (C1)Let's not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we (C2)do not become weary.10 So then, (F1)(C1)while we have opportunity, let's do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the (C2)household of (C3)the faith.

11 See with what large letters I have written to you (C1)with my own hand!12 All who want (C1)to make a good showing in the flesh try to (C2)compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they (C3)will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.13 For those who (F1)are circumcised do not even (C1)keep (F2)the Law themselves, but they want to have you circumcised so that they may (C2)boast in your flesh.14 But (F1)(C1)far be it from me to boast, (C2)except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, (C3)through (F2)which the world has been crucified to me, and (C4)I to the world.15 For (C1)neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a (C2)new (F1)creation.16 And all who will follow this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the (C1)Israel of God.

17 From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body the (F1)(C1)marks of Jesus.

18 (C1)The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be (C2)with your spirit, (C3)brothers and sisters. Amen.
