Chapter 31
Idols Are Destroyed
1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah, (C1)broke the memorial stones in pieces, cut down the (F1)Asherim and pulled down the high places and the altars throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, until (F2)they had destroyed them all. Then all the sons of Israel returned to their cities, each to his possession.
2 And Hezekiah appointed (C1)the divisions of the priests and the Levites by their divisions, each according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, (C2)for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to serve and to give thanks and to praise in the gates of the camp of the LORD.
Reforms Continued
3 He also appointed (C1)the king's portion of his property for the burnt offerings, namely, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths and for the new moons and for the appointed festivals, (C2)as it is written in the Law of the LORD.4 Also he told the people who lived in Jerusalem to give (C1)the portion due to the priests and the Levites, so that they might devote themselves to (C2)the Law of the LORD.5 As soon as the (F1)order spread, the sons of Israel abundantly provided the first fruits of grain, new wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly (C1)the tithe of everything.6 The sons of Israel and Judah who lived in the cities of Judah also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and (C1)the tithe of (F1)sacred gifts which were consecrated to the LORD their God, and placed them in heaps.7 In the third month they began to (F1)make the heaps, and they finished them by the seventh month.8 When Hezekiah and the rulers came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD and (C1)His people Israel.9 Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.10 Azariah, the chief priest (C1)of the house of Zadok, said to (F1)him, "(C2)Since the contributions started coming into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat with plenty left over, for the LORD has blessed His people, and this great quantity is left over."11 Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare (C1)rooms in the house of the LORD, and they prepared them.12 They faithfully brought in the contributions, the tithes, and the consecrated things; and Conaniah the Levite was the officer in charge (C1)of them, and his brother Shimei was second.13 Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers (F1)under the authority of Conaniah and his brother Shimei by the appointment of King Hezekiah, and (C1)Azariah was the chief officer of the house of God.14 Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the keeper of the eastern gate, was in charge of the (F1)voluntary offerings for God, to distribute the contributions for the LORD and the most holy things.15 (F1)Under his authority were (C1)Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in (C2)the cities of the priests, to distribute their portions faithfully to their brothers by divisions, whether great or small,16 without regard to their genealogical enrollment, to the males from (F1)(C1)thirty years old and upward—everyone who entered the house of the LORD (C2)for his daily obligations—for their work in their duties according to their divisions;17 as well as the priests who were enrolled genealogically according to their fathers' households, and the Levites (C1)from twenty years old and upward, by their duties and their divisions.18 The genealogical enrollment included (F1)all their little children, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, for the whole assembly, for they consecrated themselves (F2)faithfully in holiness.19 Also for the sons of Aaron, the priests, who were in (C1)the pasture lands of their cities, or in each and every city, (C2)there were men who were designated by name to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to everyone genealogically enrolled among the Levites.
20 Hezekiah did this throughout Judah; and (C1)he did what was good, right, and true before the LORD his God.21 Every work which he began in the service of the house of God in the Law and in the commandment, seeking his God, he did with all his heart and (C1)prospered.
Psalms 87
Chapter 87
The Privileges of Citizenship in Zion.
1 His (C1)foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 The LORD (C1)loves the gates of Zion
More than all the other dwelling places of Jacob.
3 (C1)Glorious things are spoken of you,
(C2)City of God. Selah
4 "I shall mention (F1)(C1)Rahab and Babylon (F2)among those who know Me;
Behold, Philistia and (C2)Tyre with (F3)(C3)Cush:
'This one was born there.'"
5 But of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her";
And the Most High Himself will (C1)establish her.
6 The LORD will count when He (C1)registers the peoples,
"This one was born there." Selah
7 Then those who (C1)sing as well as those who (F1)(C2)play the flutes will say,
"All my (C3)springs of joy are in you."

Chapter 20
The Empty Tomb
1 (C1)Now on the first day of the week (C2)Mary Magdalene (*)came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and (*)saw (C3)the stone already removed from the tomb.2 So she (*)ran and (*)came to Simon Peter and to the other (C1)disciple whom Jesus loved, and (*)said to them, "(C2)They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him."3 (C1)So Peter and the other disciple left, and they were going to the tomb.4 The two were running together; and the other disciple ran ahead, faster than Peter, and came to the tomb first;5 and he (C1)stooped to look in, and (*)saw the (C2)linen wrappings lying there; however he did not go in.6 So Simon Peter also (*)came, following him, and he entered the tomb; and he (*)looked at the linen wrappings lying there,7 and (C1)the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the (C2)linen wrappings but folded up in a place by itself.8 So the other disciple who (C1)had first come to the tomb also entered then, and he saw and believed.9 For (C1)they did not yet understand the Scripture, (C2)that He must rise from the dead.10 So the disciples went away again (C1)to their own homes.
11 (C1)But Mary was standing outside the tomb, weeping; so as she wept, she (C2)stooped to look into the tomb;12 and she (*)saw (C1)two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying.13 And they (*)said to her, "(C1)Woman, why are you weeping?" She (*)said to them, "Because (C2)they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they put Him."14 When she had said this, she turned around and (*)(C1)saw Jesus standing there, and yet she (C2)did not know that it was Jesus.15 Jesus (*)said to her, "(C1)Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Thinking that He was the gardener, she (*)said to Him, "Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away."16 Jesus (*)said to her, "Mary!" She turned and (*)said to Him (C1)in (F1)Hebrew, "(C2)Rabboni!" (which means, Teacher).17 Jesus (*)said to her, "Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to (C1)My brothers and say to them, 'I am (C2)ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.'"18 (C1)Mary Magdalene (*)came and (C2)announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and that He had said these things to her.<
