Chapter 24
Divisions of the Levites
1 Now the divisions of the (F1)descendants of Aaron were these: (C1)the sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.2 (C1)But Nadab and Abihu died before their father and had no (F1)sons. So Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.3 David, with (C1)Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their offices (F1)for their ministry.4 Since more chief men were found from the (F1)descendants of Eleazar than the (F1)descendants of Ithamar, they divided them this way: there were sixteen heads of fathers' households of the (F1)descendants of Eleazar, and eight of the (F1)descendants of Ithamar according to their fathers' households.5 (C1)So they were divided by lot, the one as the other; for they were officers of the sanctuary and officers of God, both from the (F1)descendants of Eleazar and the (F1)descendants of Ithamar.6 Shemaiah, the son of Nethanel the scribe, from the Levites, recorded them in the presence of the king, the leaders, Zadok the priest, (C1)Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers' households of the priests and the Levites; one father's household taken for Eleazar and one taken for Ithamar.
7 Now the first lot came out for Jehoiarib, the second for Jedaiah,8 the third for Harim, the fourth for Seorim,9 the fifth for Malchijah, the sixth for Mijamin,10 the seventh for Hakkoz, the eighth for (C1)Abijah,11 the ninth for Jeshua, the tenth for Shecaniah,12 the eleventh for Eliashib, the twelfth for Jakim,13 the thirteenth for Huppah, the fourteenth for Jeshebeab,14 the fifteenth for Bilgah, the sixteenth for Immer,15 the seventeenth for Hezir, the eighteenth for Happizzez,16 the nineteenth for Pethahiah, the twentieth for Jehezkel,17 the twenty-first for Jachin, the twenty-second for Gamul,18 the twenty-third for Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth for Maaziah.19 (C1)These were their offices for their ministry when they entered the house of the LORD according to the ordinance given to them through their father Aaron, just as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
20 Now for the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, (F1)Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.21 Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah, the first.22 Of the Izharites, (F1)Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.23 The sons (C1)of Hebron: Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.24 Of the sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.25 The brother of Micah, Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.26 The sons of Merari, Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah, Beno.27 The sons of Merari: by Jaaziah were Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.28 By Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.29 By Kish: the sons of Kish, Jerahmeel.30 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites according to their fathers' households.31 (C1)These also cast lots just as their relatives, the sons of Aaron did in the presence of David the king, (C2)Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers' households of the priests and of the Levites—the head of fathers' households as well as those of his younger brother.

Chapter 10
God Will Bless Judah and Ephraim
1 Ask for (C1)rain from the LORD at the time of the spring rain— The LORD who (C2)makes the (F1)storm winds;
And He will give them (C3)showers of rain, vegetation in the field to each person.
2 For the (F1)(C1)household idols speak deception,
And the (C2)diviners see (F2)an illusion
And tell (C3)deceitful dreams;
They comfort in vain.
Therefore the people (F3)wander like (C4)sheep,
They are wretched because there is no shepherd.
3 "My (C1)anger is kindled against the shepherds,
And I will punish the (F1)male goats;
For the LORD of armies has (C2)visited His flock, the house of Judah,
And will make them like His majestic horse in battle.
4 "From (F1)them will come the (C1)cornerstone,
From (F1)them the tent peg,
From (F1)them the bow of (C2)battle,
From (F1)them every tyrant, all of them together.
5 "And they will be like warriors,
(C1)Trampling down the enemy in the mud of the streets in battle;
And they will fight, because the LORD will be with them;
And the (C2)riders on horses will be put to shame.
6 "And I will (C1)strengthen the house of Judah,
And I will (C2)save the house of Joseph,
And I will (F1)(C3)bring them back,
Because I have had (C4)compassion on them;
And they will be as though I had (C5)not rejected them,
For I am the LORD their God and I will (C6)answer them.
7 "Ephraim will be like a warrior,
And their heart will be joyful as if from wine;
Indeed, their (C1)children will see it and be joyful,
(F1)Their heart will rejoice in the LORD.
8 "I will (C1)whistle for them and gather them together,
For I have redeemed them;
And they will be as (C2)numerous as they (F1)(C3)were before.
9 "When I (F1)scatter them among the peoples,
They will (C1)remember Me in distant countries,
And they with their children will live and come back.
10 "I will (C1)bring them back from the land of Egypt
And gather them from Assyria;
And I will bring them into the land of (C2)Gilead and Lebanon
(F1)Until (C3)no room can be found for them.
11 "And they will pass through the (C1)sea of distress
And He will strike the waves in the sea,
So that all the depths of the (C2)Nile will dry up;
And the pride of (C3)Assyria will be brought down,
And the scepter of (C4)Egypt will depart.
12 "And I will (C1)strengthen them in the LORD,
And in His name (C2)they will walk," declares the LORD.
John 6:22-59
Chapter 6
22 The next day (C1)the crowd that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other small boat there except one, and that Jesus (C2)had not gotten into the boat with His disciples, but that His disciples had departed alone.23 Other small boats came from (C1)Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread after the (C2)Lord (C3)had given thanks.24 So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats and (C1)came to Capernaum, looking for Jesus.25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "(C1)Rabbi, when did You get here?"
Words to the People
26 Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you (C1)seek Me, not because you saw (F1)(C2)signs, but because you ate some of the loaves and were filled.27 "Do not (C1)work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for (C2)eternal life, which (C3)the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, (C4)has set His (F1)seal."28 Therefore they said to Him, "What are we to do, so that we may accomplish the works of God?"29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is (C1)the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He (C2)has sent."30 So they said to Him, "(C1)What then are You doing as a (C2)sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work are You performing?31 "(C1)Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: '(C2)HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.'"32 Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven.33 "For the bread of God is (F1)that which (C1)comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world."34 Then they said to Him, "Lord, always (C1)give us this bread."
35 Jesus said to them, "(C1)I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me (C2)will never be thirsty.36 "But (C1)I said to you that you have indeed seen Me, and yet you do not believe.37 "(C1)Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out.38 "For (C1)I have come down from heaven, (C2)not to do My own will, but (C3)the will of Him who (C4)sent Me.39 "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of (C1)everything that He has given Me I will (C2)lose nothing, but will (C3)raise it up on the last day.40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who (C1)sees the Son and (C2)believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will (C3)raise him up on the last day."
Words to the Jews
41 (C1)So then the Jews were complaining about Him because He said, "I am the bread that (C2)came down out of heaven."42 And they were saying, "(C1)Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother (C2)we know? How does He now say, '(C3)I have come down out of heaven'?"43 Jesus answered and said to them, "Stop complaining among yourselves.44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me (C1)draws him; and I will (C2)raise him up on the last day.45 "It is written (C1)in the Prophets: '(C2)AND THEY SHALL ALL BE (C3)TAUGHT OF GOD.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me.46 "(C1)Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father.47 "Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who believes (C1)has eternal life.48 "(C1)I am the bread of life.49 "(C1)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.50 "This is the bread that (C1)comes down out of heaven, so that anyone may eat from it and (C2)not die.51 "(C1)I am the living bread that (C2)came down out of heaven; if anyone eats from this bread, (C3)he will live forever; and the bread which I will give (C4)for the life of the world also is (C5)My flesh."
52 (C1)Then the Jews (C2)began to argue with one another, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?"53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of (C1)the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.54 "The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will (C1)raise him up on the last day.55 "For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.56 "The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood (C1)remains in Me, and I in him.57 "Just as the (C1)living Father (C2)sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who eats Me, he also will live because of Me.58 "This is the bread that (C1)came down out of heaven, not as (C2)the fathers ate and died; the one who eats this bread (C3)will live forever."
