In a system where the cost of care is hidden by taxes levied on your income, property, and business activities, it is no wonder why so many Americans rely on Medicaid to pay their long term care.

To tax and to please, no more than to love and to be wise, is not given to men.

In order to fix Social Security, we must restructure it so that we continue to provide for our Nation's seniors that are approaching retirement age, but allow for younger taxpayers to invest a portion of their Social Security taxes in private accounts.

Income tax filing and payment day should be moved from April 15th to November 1st so it can be close to election day. People ought to have their tax bills fresh in mind as they go to vote.

From where I am sitting much of the country now sees the President the way I have seen him since the campaign. He is an ambitious leftist, with little understanding of economics, and with far-reaching goals to create significant and irreversible growth of government and redistribution of wealth through dramatic changes in tax, regulatory, and spending policies.

We must have a fair tax in the United States. We have to re-adjust it, we must be fiscally responsible.

Note, besides, that it is no more immoral to directly rob citizens than to slip indirect taxes into the price of goods that they cannot do without.

In a perfect world we would bring corporate tax rates down to 25% or less so we can get competitive in the world economy. Ultimately, I would love to see a flat tax.

I am not for raising taxes in a recession, especially when it comes to job creators that we need so desperately to start creating jobs again.

It is irresponsible for this Congress to not investigate the President's lack of an exit strategy, and the fraud, waste, and abuse of U.S. tax dollars.

Not to be blasphemous, but I wonder if even the Holy Trinity understands the American tax code.

Lotteries, a tax upon imbeciles.

The rich pay more in total taxes now than ever before - ever. It's true. Just like it's true that when the rich are convinced they're going to be taxed more, they spend less. And when the top few percenters don't spend, there goes all your spending, because they account for half of all retail spending.

Even with not having a balanced budget at this time, I support tax cuts. That will help limit spending.
