Self esteem is the reputation we acquire with ourselves.

Drugs are a waste of time. They destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with with your self esteem.

The most insignificant people are the most apt to sneer at others. They are safe from reprisals. And have no hope of rising in their own self esteem but by lowering their neighbors.

Self esteem comes from doing something and accomplishing something.

But what many psychologists have done, probably because they did well on a test themselves and everyone wants high self esteem, is to create this little box and then do their research inside it.
