Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

צְמָרִי Genesis 10:18 [Zemarite], pr.n. of a Canaanitish nation. The inhabitants of the city of Simyra are apparently to be understood (Strabo, xvi. p. 518; Cellarii Not. Orbis Ant. ii. 445), the ruins of which, called Sumra, at the western base of Lebanon, are mentioned by Shaw (Travels, p. 269).
