יָשַׂם

(1) i.q. שׂוּם to set, or place. Hence וָאִישְׂמָה Judges 12:3 כתיב.

(2) intrans. to be set, placed (compare יָצַר and צוּר). Fut. וַיִּישֶׂם Genesis 50:26, and 24:33 כתיב, where the קרי is יוּשַׂם, Hoph. from שׂוּם.
