זְמַן Chald. Pael, to appoint, to establish, to prepare.
Hithpael הִזְדַּמֵּן to agree together, properly to appoint for each other time and place, Daniel 2:9 קרי. Comp. Amos 3:3 Targ. The כתיב is to be read הַזְמִנְתּוּן, and is Aphel, in which, however, this verb is used [elsewhere] neither in Syriac nor in Chaldee [?] but only in Samaritan [“and this reading is to be preferred, as being the more unusual”].
