1 come to an end, be no more Psalm 7:10; Psalm 12:2 ("" [מָּסַס]); Psalm 77:9 ("" אָפֵס).
2 transitive bring to an end, complete, אֵל גֹּמֵר עָלָ֑י Psalm 57:3 God that completeth, accomplisheth, for me (ᵐ5 Gr Bi גמל, & so Che doubtfully), יִגְמֹר בַּעֲדִי׳י Psalm 138:8 .
גָּמַר fut. יִגְמֹר.
(1) to complete, to finish, Psalms 57:3, אֵל גֹּמֶר עָלַי “God who will complete for me,” i.e. will plead my cause; Psalms 138:8, seq. בְּעַד.
(2) intrans. to leave off, to fail, Psalms 7:10, 12:2 77:9. In the Aramean dialects this root is of frequent occurrence in both significations.
