גּוּמָּץ noun masculine pit (Aramaic loan-word, compare גּוּמְצָא, ; Late Hebrew גּוּמָּצָא compare Ba NB 66, Anm.I), Ecclesiastes 10:8 חֹפֵרבּוֺ יִמּ֑וֺל ׳ג he that diggeth a pit shall fall in to it; so also Proverbs 26:27 ᵑ7ᵑ6 where HCT כֹּרֶה שַׁחַת .

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
גּוּמָּץ m. a pit; once found, Ecclesiastes 10:8. (Syriac ܓܘܽܡܳܨܐܳ id.; Chald. גּוּמְצָא, כּוּמְצָא id., the letter גּ being interchanged with כ.) The root גמץ is used in Syriac and Chaldee in the signification of digging.
