For healing by touch of hand, as in Mar. 1:41, see Herodas IV. 18 (ed. Headlam), where an offering is made for a cure in the temple of Asclepius with the words—

νούσων ἐποιεύμεσθα τὰς ἀπέψησας

ἐπ᾽ ἠπίας σὺ χεῖρας, ὦ ἄναξ, τείνας,
