";approve of,"; ";agree with."; An early ex. : of this common Hellenistic verb is found in P Grenf II. 26.25 (B.C. 103) συνευδοκοῦντες τῶν προγεγραμμένων. Cf. for the dat. constr., as in Luke 11:48, Romans 1:32, P Oxy XIV. 1644.27 (B.C. 63–2) ἐπ [ὶ δ ]ὲ πᾶσ [ι τ ]οῖς προγεγραμμένοις συνευδοκοῦσ ̣ι ̣ν ̣ [οἱ τ ]ῶν ὁμ [ολο ]γούντων μ ̣[άρτυ ]ρ ̣ες, ib. II. 237vi. 24 (A.D. 186) σ ̣υνευδοκῆσαι βουληθείσαι <ς > αὐτῷ ὑποτιθεμένῳ τὴν οὐσίαν ταύτην, ";when we wished to agree to his mortgaging the property in question"; (Edd.). For the absol. use, as in Acts 22:20, cf. BGU IV. 1129.6 (B.C. 13) ὡ ̣μ ̣ο ̣λ (όγησεν) ὁ Πρώταρχ (ος) συνευδοκ (ούσης) καὶ τῆς γυ ̣ν ̣α ̣ι ̣κ ̣(ός). The subst. συνευδόκησις is seen in the sale contract P Oxy X. 1276.19 (A.D. 249) οὐ προσδεόμενος με [τ ]αδόσεως οὐδὲ ἑτέρας συνευδοκήσεως ἡμῶν, ";without requiring a notification or any further concurrence on our part"; (Edd.), and similarly ib. XIV. 1638.31 (A.D. 282).
