Ion. σεωυτοῦ, ῆς, reflexive Pron. of 2nd pers., of thyself, etc., in masc. and fem. of gen., dat., and acc. sg., first in Alc. 87, Pi. Fr. 97, Hdt. 1.45, 108; ἐν σαυτοῦ (v.l. -ῷ ) γενοῦ contain thyself, S. Ph. 950: rarely in neut., φίλον ξύλον, ἔγειρέ μοι σεαυτὸ καὶ γίγνου θρασύ E. Fr. 693: — the Trag. use the longer form (but not so freq. as the shorter), S. Ant. 547, OT 312, etc.: — in pl. always separated, ὑμῶν αὐτῶν, etc.: and orig. separated in sg., as in Hom., who always has σοὶ αὐτῷ, σ' αὐτόν; and so τὰ σ' αὐτοῦ, τὰ σ' αὐτῆς for τὰ σά αὐτοῦ, etc., v. σός 1.3 . — The separated forms, σοῦ αὐτοῦ, αὐτοῦ σοῦ, etc., were used in Att., not as reflexive, but as emphat. personal pronouns, cf. Pl. Grg. 472b, A. Th. 632 .
σεαυτοῦ, σεαυτῆς, σεαυτοῦ, a reflexive pronoun of the 2nd person, used only in the genitive, dative, and accusative; in the N. T. only in the masculine; genitive (of) thyself (of) thee: John 8:13; John 18:34 L Tr WH; Acts 26:1; 2 Timothy 4:11; dative σεαυτῷ (to) thyself (to) thee: John 17:5; Acts 16:23; Romans 2:5; 1 Timothy 4:16; accusative σεαυτόν, thyself, thee: Matthew 4:6; Mark 12:31; Luke 4:23; John 8:53; Romans 14:22; Galatians 6:1; 1 Timothy 4:7; 2 Timothy 2:15; James 2:8; etc. (Cf.
