With this proper name (John 18:10) we may compare a certain Ἰρμαῖος Μάλιχος, the only Semite name in a ii/A.D. military letter published by Comparetti in Mél. Nic. p. 57 ff. : see the editor’s note to ii. 26, and cf. P Magd 15 verso.3 (B.C. 221).
