2. pl. in Platonic Philosophy, ideal forms, archetypes, τὰς.. ἰ. νοεῖσθαι μέν, ὁρᾶσθαι δ' οὔ Id. R. 507b, cf. 596b,al., Arist. Metaph. 990a34, al., EN 1096a17: also in sg., ἡ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ ἰ. Pl. R. 508e, al., cf. εἶδος.

εἰδέα, ἐιδεας, ἡ, Matthew 28:3 T Tr WH, a poetic form for ἰδέα, which see (cf. WH's Appendix, p. 153) (Baruch 6 (epistle of Jer.) 62; Aristophanes Thesm. 438 variant). Cf. Buttmann, 5; (Winers Grammar, 48 (47); see εἰ ἰ).

ἰδέα —
P Oxy X. 1277.10 (A.D. 255) προσκεφάλαια. . λινᾶ τῆς αὐτῆς εἰδαίας (l. ἰδέας), ";of the same quality"; (Edd.), and the magical papyrus P Lond 121.760 (iii/A.D.) (= I. p. 108) ἵνα πᾶσαν εἰδέαν ἀποτελέσῃς. Note εἰ – for ἰ –, as in Matthew 28:3, and cf. the cognate forms εἶδος and εἴδωλον. Ἰδέα comes from *ϝ ιδεσα (Boisacq, p. 220) : see also s.v. ἴσος. On the AV translation ";countenance"; in Mt l.c. see Field Notes, p. 22. The word in MGr = ";thought,"; ";idea.";
εἰδέα —
This poetic form, which in the NT is confined to Matthew 28:3, is found in P Gen I. 16.17 (A.D. 207) (= Chrest I. p. 417) καὶ διὰ αὐτὸ τ [ο ]ῦτο τὸ (om.) μέρος πάντα τὰ ὑποστέλλοντα τῇ κώμῃ πάμπολλα ὄντα ἀποδ [ί ]δοται ἕνεκ [α ] τοῦ μὴ ἔχιν τὴν κώμην μήτε ἰδι [ω ]τικὴν γῆν μήτε βασ [ιλ ]ικὴν μηδὲ ἄλλην εἰδέαν.
