The b is a representation of the tent or house. Combined these pictures mean "look toward the house" or "provide for the family". One does not choose the household which one is born into, including tribe, parents, children and wife (as marriages were often arranged by the father) , it is a gift from God. These gifts are seen as a privilege and are to be cherished and protected. (eng: have - as given)

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

אַהַב only in pl. אֲהָבִים.

(1)  loves, specially in a bad sense; amours, amourettes, Liebfchaften. Tropically used, of fellowship entered into with foreign [idolatrous] nations, Hosea 8:9.

(2) delight, Proverbs 5:19, אַיֶּלֶת אֲהָבִים “hind of delight,” i.e. most pleasant, most lovely.
