שׁוּנֵם (perhaps “two resting-places,” for שׁוּנַיִם, compare עָנֵם for עֵינַיִם), [Shunem], pr.n. of a town in the tribe of Issachar, Joshua 19:18; 1 Samuel 28:4; 2 Kings 4:8 prob. Sulem of Eusebius (see σουβήμ), five miles south of Tabor: [prob. now Sôlam, سوَام Rob. iii. 169]. Gentile noun שׁוּנַמִּי, f. -ית 1 Kings 1:3, 2:17 2 Kings 4:12.
